Toronto Indoor Games 2017 – Entry Form

The organizers would greatly appreciate online entry submission by all competitors. However if you absolutely cannot submit online, please contact us.

Your email confirmation from Paypal is confirmation of entry in your selected contest(s), and an updated list of entries will be posted periodically. Online entries close 8pm on April 8, 2017 and order of play will be posted April 11, 2017.

Standard PPBSO rules apply to all contests, except where noted.

Bands PLEASE NOTE:

  • We are holding band contests this year (not mini-bands)
  • There is an entry limit of 18 bands. Entries will be closed when the limit is reached.
  • This event relies entirely on volunteers!! Bands are requested to provide a minimum of 2 volunteers to steward during the day. We will only keep them busy for 2 hours (solo stewarding), or 1 hour (handing out scoresheets, etc.).
  • There is no maximum band size. Minimum band sizes are:
    • Grade 1&2: 6 pipers, 2 side drummers, 1 bass
    • Grade 3: 5 pipers, 2 side drummers, 1 bass
    • Grade 4: 5 pipers, 2 side drummers, 1 bass
    • Grade 5: 5 pipers, 2 side drummers, 1 bass

Quartets PLEASE NOTE:

  • We are holding combined Grade 1 & 2 and Grade 3 & 4 quartet contests. Quartets should be entered at the level of their band’s grading. A Grade 3 or 4 band may “play up” 1 quartet provided all 4 players are graded at a Grade 1 or 2 solo level.
  • There is an entry limit of 22 Quartets. Entries will be closed when the limit is reached.
  • Due to growing entry numbers, we cannot guarantee that the Grade 3&4 quartets will have a proper tuning room. We will try (!!), but please enter only if you are ok with this condition.

Snare Drumming Contests:

  • Snare drummers in Grades 3-5 have the option of using a PPBSO recording for their performance.

Tenor & Bass Contests:

  • Tenor & Bass contests will be individual solo performances with accompaniment options as follows: recording (grade 5, 4, 3) using PPBSO pre-selected tunes OR live piper accompaniment on practice chanter OR live piper accompaniment on bagpipes OR piper and snare drummer OR recording and snare drummer
  • If a recording is used, the PPBSO will provide the recordings and the sound equipment.
  • Tenor and Bass solos will take place in the morning along with all other solo events.
  • Contact us if you have questions.
